Temperature plays a major role in how effectively interlining bonds with fashion fabric. If the heat is too low, the adhesive may not activate completely, resulting in weak areas that can separate later. Excessive heat can create scorching, shine marks or an overly stiff finish. For this reason, manufacturers should always follow the recommended fusing conditions and confirm them with a small production test before processing a full batch.
The selected fusible interlining should also be compatible with the fabric being used. A lightweight shirt fabric may require a different setting from a heavy formal material. Using the correct fusing cloth and maintaining consistent pressure and dwell time helps the adhesive spread evenly without damaging the outer fabric. Operators should also ensure that both layers are smooth and correctly positioned before pressing.
For larger applications such as body fusing, temperature must remain consistent across the entire panel. Uneven heat can create sections that bond differently, particularly on large suit or sherwani fronts. Maintaining stable machine settings and sourcing consistent interlining fabric can help manufacturers achieve reliable results throughout production.
