Power and Storage: How to Never Miss a Shot in the Mara

If there’s one mistake we see often, it’s photographers underestimating how much storage and power they’ll need. A single morning on your Masai Mara photography tour can easily fill 100GB or more—especially when the action is nonstop. We suggest packing multiple fast memory cards (preferably UHS-II or CFexpress), extra batteries, and at least one rugged SSD for backups.

Guests staying at Mara Siligi Camp benefit from daily charging facilities, but having a power bank or car charger helps during longer drives. If you’re booking one of our Masai Mara photography tour packages, ask about our daily backup assistance—we’ve helped many pros recover or duplicate their footage to avoid disaster. Out here, every image counts. Don’t let your best shot get lost due to poor planning.
